Until the age of 30 he lived and pursued his divine mission to blossom literary genius in his native place Chennara. Kondayur house where he lived is a branch of the Vallathol Tharavade based at Pullooni which was a mansion of ettukettu. Ettukettu is the traditional homestead of old Tharavadu where many generations of a matrilineal family lived.
A souvenier was released during the first ever family reunion in 2017.
During the destructive kerala floods in 2018, Vallathol family members joined forces and extended timely relief to the flood victims.

The main building of vallathol Tharavade. Arrangements were in place here to give shelter and food to any needy person irrespective of cast, creed or religion day or night. The great poet imbibed fully this family trait of service, compassion, humaneness, true secularism, etc..
The Legend was born here
The original base of Vallathol Tharavadu in Pullooni was converted to Vallathol memorial as a tribute to the legend in his native place. In the pic above is the 400 year old family kalari next to Vallathol Memorial, Pullooni.
On Vallathol Jayanthi in 2020 family members presented a tribute to Makakavi by creating this video with his selected poems
